Our Kennet Centre shop, Newbury, is next open from 11 am to 2:30 pm on:

Incredible summer

Wow, what a summer and what an incredible day celebrating our 5th birthday. Thank you to everyone who joined us. 

It's been a record summer. We've served over 350 customers and almost 1,300 items of uniform have found new homes.

A special thank you goes to our amazing volunteers - Loz, Kim, Cazz, Kathryn, Cheryl, Sandra, Yvie, my son Drew, and my lovely mum Pat 😍 I couldn't do it without you.

A big thank you also goes to the businesses and organisations that support us - The Thatcham and Newbury mayors, your support is very much appreciated. The whole Kennet Centre team, West Berkshire Foodbank, the Volunteer Centre, Howden Insurance Thatcham and Viking self storage.

The shop is next open on Saturday 6 and 20 Sept from 11 am to 2:30 pm. We are also available online please message via Facebook or Instagram or email me at Tuxchange19@gmail.com with details of exactly what you need and I will check the stock (when I'm next in the shop) and get back to you. 😊

How it works

This is a pre-loved school uniform service for Newbury and Thatcham.

It's not a strict exchange, you don't need to donate clothes to take new ones away.

We do ask for a small monetary donation. 100% of your donation goes back into the service to cover overheads. All our volunteers, including the CEO, are unpaid and give up their free-time to provide this service.

OPEN HOURS

The store is open one or two days a month from Sept to July, more frequently during the summer holidays. If you need something please get in touch. Our opening hours are shared on Facebook and Instagram.

DONATIONS

Donated items must be GOOD QUALITY and CLEAN - this includes all uniform (branded and non-branded), shoes, sports and PE kits, coats, and book bags. But please NO old style logo items that your school no longer accept, tights, socks, stained, or holed items.

Please remember that these items are being gifted to another child.

You can donate directly in store when open, Howden Insurance (formally A-Plan), Thatcham during open hours, or via the Foodbank areas in local supermarkets - simply place items folded, in a bag, tied up and drop in the Foodbank collection points.
