Pre-loved school uniform service for Newbury and Thatcham
Our commitment to you
TUXchange is committed to reducing financial pressure on families and promoting sustainability by offering pre-loved school uniform.
How it works
TUXchange is a non-profit, pre-loved school uniform service for Newbury and Thatcham.
Our aim is to make accessing school uniform simple, affordable and dignified — with no judgement, just support.
Do I qualify to use TUXchange?
Yes! TUXchange is open to all families and is not means-tested.
You do not need a referral, voucher or proof of income. If you find the uniform you need in our online shop, simply place your order and we'll do the rest.
Due to the closure of our shop at the Kennet Centre, Newbury, on 30 January 2026 (as the site is being redeveloped), we are sadly unable to offer free exchanges at this time.
We have over 1,000 items available on our online shop, with free collection and £2 per delivery to customers in Newbury and Thatcham. Visit our shop.
Donations of clean, folded, and undamaged uniform are always welcome. Drop-offs can be made during opening hours at:
Howden Insurance (Thatcham)
Tiny Town Café, Newbury
Skoolkit, Newbury (recycle bin just inside the door)
Local supermarket Foodbank collection points.
Please bag and tie items securely.
Help us secure a new home
On 31 January 2026, we had to vacate our shop in the Kennet Centre, Newbury, due to the centre's upcoming redevelopment.
We have moved all our stock online, but in order to continue the free exchange element of our service, we need a new shop.
Sadly, we've not been able to find a landlord who would let us use an empty unit for free, so we are asking for funds to help us cover the cost of rent for a small unit over the next couple of years.
Donate via our Good Exchange fundraising page. Your donations are greatly appreciated.

We are completely blown away.
A massive thank you to every single person who came along, bought a ticket, supported the raffle and helped make our Halloween Bingo such a fantastic evening.
We had a fantastic time and hope you did too. Most importantly, the money raised will help TUXchange continue supporting families in our community. 💙
