What our customers say…

Challenge

With the cost of living crisis quickly following the pandemic, many were feeling the further pinch in their finances. For some the choice to buy uniform or food was becoming a reality.

Solution

By encouraging the local community, through social media channels, to donate good quality uniform that was no longer needed enabled TUXchange to provide families with the essential items they needed. At this time donations were collected, sorted, and then distributed to families either to their door or a pick up was arranged.

Donations can now be made via the Foodbank collection points in local supermarkets, Howden Insurance in Thatcham, and Skoolkit, Newbury

Impact

These quotes from our customers capture the impact TUXchange has...

“Thank you so much for the winter coats you provided. After your delivery, I cried with relief. Knowing that my grandkids would now be warm and dry on their school commute, plus experiencing the kindness of others, was so overwhelming. I will never forget what you did for us”.
Anonymous, Thatcham.

“My husband has lost his job, and we just don’t know where to turn. Money is so tight and I was stressed, wondering how we would afford the rugby shirt our son needs for school. I’m so grateful you have one I can have. I keep putting things on the credit card, and I’m dreading the bill”. Anonymous, Newbury.

These customers were also signposted to local services that offer support.

Being a volunteer…

Challenge

Without the support of the volunteers the service would not exist. All our volunteers, including the CEO, are unpaid and give up their time to support the service and their local community.

Solution

We believe that by building relationships with our customers encourages them to consider volunteering. They see first hand the value of the service and understand how it works.

Impact
